Nicole Givens Kurtz was born in Knoxville, Tennessee. She is the publisher of Mocha Memoirs Ezine of Short Fiction & Poetry and the author of: The Soul Cages, Browne Candidate (EPPIE and Dream Realm Award Finalist in SF), and A Complete Woman.
She is also an Instructor at the University of New Mexico, Gallup. Her short stories have appeared in such noted publications as Anotherealm, Jackhammer Ezine, Dragon Soup, Orpheus Romance and Wild Child Press. In addition to fiction, her nonfiction articles have appeared in AFRIQUE Newsmagazine as well as Elanmag, Electronic Magazine for Women of Color, and ePregnancy.
Nicole has the following degrees: Master's of Art in Secondary Education from Western New Mexico University, Master's of Art in Creative Writing from LaCrosse University, and a Bachelor's of Art in Rhetorical Writing from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
Nicole has also taken classes at the Santa Fe summer campus of Bread Loaf School of English.
Nicole is also a member of Critters Online Critique Workshop, National Association of Women Writers and EPIC (Electronically Published Internet Connection).
