Dover, Tennessee - Author Nicole Givens Kurtz takes readers on a journey into a world known as Solis with her latest novel, The Soul Cages. Riveting, the book spins a tale of captures, rescues, and escapes. Givens Kurtz will be attending science fiction conventions this summer to celebrate the release of this recent novel.
The Soul Cages is the story of Sarah, who as a child is captured by Valek and taken to his soul cages on Solis. Valek is in the business of selling Solance, a mind-reading serum that takes human souls as a major ingredient. At the onset of the novel, Sarah and her sister Amana have managed to escape the soul cages, only to be ambushed at the
Allerton Circle, a gateway to another world. A mysterious man arrives through the Allerton Circle, sporting a shield and a sword.
Raved as an "highly imaginative, gripping fantasy" by Janne Allen of Knowbetter, The Soul Cages is going on tour this summer to science fiction conventions. Givens Kurtz starts her tour at Black to the Future, June 11 in Seattle, WA. She'll also be attending ConKopelli in Litchfield Park, AZ, July 2 - 5, Bubonicon 36 in Albuquerque, NM, August 27 - 29, and completing her tour at Dragon Con 2004 in Atlanta, GA on September 3 - 7.
Givens Kurtz second novel, Browne Candidate, received national attention when named a finalist for the 2003 EPPIEs and 2002 Dream Realm Awards for Best Science Fiction novel. Her debut novel, A Complete Woman, captured romance and mainstream ebook audiences by storm as it reached book of the month status soon and received praise from The Romance Readers Connection.
Nicole Givens Kurtz was born in Knoxville, Tennessee. She is the publisher of Mocha Memoirs Ezine of Short Fiction & Poetry. She is an Instructor at the University of New Mexico, Gallup. Her short stories have appeared in such noted publications as Anotherealm, Jackhammer Ezine, Dragon Soup, Orpheus Romance and Wild Child Press. She is working on her fourth novel.
